ST. MARTIN'S CHURCH POINT OF INTEREST
This 13th-century font has welcomed generations of parishioners into the Christian faith. Positioned by the door, it reminds each newcomer that baptism is the gateway to the life of the church. The circular font, symbolising cleansing and a new life, is carved from stone with an octagonal stem and base. It is believed the base of an earlier font sits underneath.
